Kofi Annan or Christian Comedy?
Originally written for and published by standup festival Comedy Zone.
What to do when you’ve got to choose between a panel discussion with Kofi Annan and volounteering for the Salvation Army? Easy choice: Christ before fame. Comedy Zone before meeting idols.
Few might believe me if I told the story in public but it makes sense in writing. I happened to receive two tickets for a formal reception of some honorary PhD’s at Uppsala University. Too late I realised the time and date were the same as for Comedy Zone. What to do? I gave the tickets to a stunningly gorgeous class mate and tried forget about the insanity of my actions.
Then again, I promissed Jesper (or his twin) I’d make it to the Zone and now I’m fully satisfied with my decision. Or at least I should be. Not because I made a sacrifice for anyone but because my cooking skills are more important than my autograph collection.
Not to forget: food is the way to peoples hearts. If everyone had enough food there wouldn’t be wars and without wars no UN (?).
Hoping to see you in Malmö!

Ps. I’m not the one posing on the image… Haha.

I am so happy, and humbled, by this. Volunteering your skills, because the motivation was right is something I am sure that God will honor.
For me, holding true to a promise testifies about character.
Be blessed. Richly.

Omie: Your actions reflects your character, my young commis. I welcome you warmly into my lair of culinary wisdom , brilliant technique and – the lash. 🙂 Since you so chevaleresque donated your tickets for the Kofi Annan – gig to a beautyful girl, you keep the traditions and standards high for every flirtous cook there is. Keep up the good work!
